This little envelope containing Yuri!!!
on Ice stickers is one of the limited edition items that was sold at the Sanrio
Puroland theme park in December 2017. If you’ve already seen various goods from
Sanrio’s collaboration with Yuri!!! on Ice (such as this blanket or these plushies), you know that they usually depict Yuri as Pochacco, Victor (and
Makkachin) as Pompompurin, and Yurio as Hello Kitty. I guess that’s because
Yuri and Victor like dogs, and Yurio likes cats. Well, the limited edition
items from Puroland add some more characters to the mix: Phichit as
Corocorokuririn, Otabek as Bad Badtz-Maru, JJ as My Melody, and Chris as Osaru
no Monkichi!
Combining Phichit with Corocorokuririn
is a super cute idea, because Corocorokuririn is a hamster. As for Otabek and
Bad Badtz-Maru, apparently Bad Badtz-Maru has been depicted as a motorcyclist
and a DJ before, so maybe that’s the reason behind that decision. I’m not sure
why JJ is My Melody, but he looks adorable with bunny ears, so I’m certainly
not complaining! Oh, and concerning Chris as Monkichi, well… Monkichi has a
bright red bottom, so maybe somebody decided that it made sense to combine
Chris with the one who has the flashiest bottom!
Anyway, let’s move on to what the
stickers actually look like. There’s a total of nine stickers and they’re
small, so I took some close-ups. For the first three that I’ll show you, here’s
a sticker of the skaters and Makkachin with a rainbow, then a sticker of Yuri
and Pochacco, and then one of Victor and Makkachin with Pompompurin:
Here’s another box of Yuri!!! on Ice
charms! This is the Chara-Forme Swing Mascot Collection, made by empty (yes,
the company is called “empty”). These charms are like tiny figurines, except
they have lobster clasps so you can clip them onto whatever you want. Here’s a
quick glimpse of the whole set:
Aren’t they adorable? Keep reading for
further info, plus a few more pictures!
Today, the official Yuri!!! on Ice item that I will
be reviewing is big, blue, and… a box.
Um, yeah, just a box. This is the
Ice Castle Hasetsu Gyoumuyou Oritatami Container (Ice Castle Hasetsu Business
Folding Container), by Groove Garage. Yes,
I know this probably seems like a silly thing to buy, however I needed to get
some kind of storage container for my growing collection of Yuri!!! on Ice
merchandise, so I thought this would be an amusing choice. Heh.
As you can see in the above image, on the long side
of the box it says “Ice Castle Hasetsu” (in both English and
Japanese), and below that are icons of an ice skate, Makkachin, and hearts that
say “LOVE”, “EROS”, and “AGAPE”. Here’s a closer look at those icons:
Cute, eh? Keep

Here’s a new Yuri!!! on Ice item that came out a
couple of weeks ago. It’s YuTra: Yuri!!! on Ice Original Soundtrack
Collection. "YuTra" is
short for “Yuri Tracks”, and it’s a CD containing background music
from the anime, plus TV size versions of the opening and ending theme
songs. (If you’re looking for the
skating songs instead, check out my review of Oh! SkaTra!!!: Yuri!!! on Ice Original Skate Song Collection.)
Yes, now you can finally listen to the beautiful
music from the episode 9 airport scene over and over again! And there’s other great music too, of
course. Keep reading for a bit more
info, plus a few more pictures!
I received this lovely message in my mailbox the other day:
As you can imagine, my response was “No. absolutely not.”
I received this message this morning:
As you can imagine, I am pissed off. No one, under any circumstance, has the right to reproduce my content on their website without my explicit permission. I did not “ignore” the message, but either way that is NOT consent.
The audacity of some people is, honestly, mind-boggling.
If you did not write it, don’t post it. It is not yours in any way, shape, or form. I have not given anyone permission to use my content, which means I expect that it will not be reproduced without my EXPLICIT permission. I have allowed people to translate my work, but only with permission. This isn’t a translation, this is outright STEALING my work and putting it on a website I do not want it to be on.
I get that some of you guys are very young, but let this be a lesson to you–if you did not create it, it is not yours. Don’t touch it. Admire it and rec it to anyone and everyone you want. But do not say you will reproduce my writing, and then state that my “silence will be seen as permission” especially when I have already said no.
Dance of the Red Death was one of the hardest and most important things I have ever written. It is painful and visceral, and the thought that someone else would have control over that work has my stomach in knots. It is the story of characters from YoI, yes, but it is so deeply personal and entwined with my own life that I look at it as part of me. It was my therapy through a very trying time, and I do not want anyone to think they have a right to touch it without my permission.
I think I am most angry about the idea that silence means agreement. It does not. In no UNIVERSE is silence EVER AGREEMENT. Do NOT assume so.
Story
summary: Yuri Katsuki’s life is full of surprises, mainly
because of Victor. But is this newest surprise the most ridiculous one of all,
or the most romantic? Perhaps it’s both.
