lilly-white:

That writer feel when you go through an existential crisis for like two weeks, only to lift your head and realise that you now have to change something about your novel because of what you’ve discovered about yourself. And some crazy part of you brain believes that the universe sent you all that bullshit just to benefit your goddamn story

Struggle for two weeks on a single event, get a sudden flash of how to handle it. This fanfic life…

FINALLY on the damn boat to Costa. Feel&Grope scene, here we come.

This was not the productive writing weekend I had hoped it would be, word count wise, but I did get over a dull spot, so I guess that counts for something.

Seph. Is. A. CREEPER.

I mean, that’s nothing new in this fic. And Aeris ain’t having none of his bullshit anyway.

Estimated 15% done.

Ugh, woman, yes, you do come back to Junon and environs to set up house and make that man of yours raise the kids, but you can’t stop here now.

Pros of writing such a long story: Writing about Aeris wanting to tell Tseng where to shove it in one fic then jumping to the other fic to write her actually doing it.

Cons: Constantly torn between taking every new idea or thought about canon and characterization and making a new short piece out of it or ‘saving’ it to incorporate into the Big Plot.

Found another Con: Having to go in depth into canon scenes I previously skipped over because they have sequel relevance.

You know, before S-E announced the remake I was just going to finish Path ‘one of these days’ and let it sit. Maybe I would have even finally slid out of active fandom into my other interests, who knows. But S-E went and gave me the hope that led to the current despair and I keep telling myself every word is a step closer to the end but good lord, it’s still so far.
