I wonder where the break happened that such wide swaths of younger fans don’t grasp fandom things that used to be unspoken understandings. That fic readers are expected to know fiction from reality, that views expressed in fic are not necessarily those of the author, that the labels, tags and warnings on various kinkfics are also the indication that they were created for titillation and not much more, please use responsibly as per all pornography. The ‘problem’ isn’t that so-called ‘problematic’ fic exists but that some of the audience is being stupid, irresponsible, at worst criminal, at best not old enough to be in the audience to begin with. And that’s on the consumer, not the author who told you via labels, tags, ratings, warnings and venues what their fic was about and what it was for.
I can’t stress enough how important this post is
bad post since some of the shit ppl write abt r literal cp and rape but sure
Words on a page about fictional characters are NOT literal cp and rape. Literally no living breathing human being was raped by a story. Please learn to distinguish between fiction and reality. You will not be able to function in the wider world if you can’t.
Sometimes I look at fashion and get irritated that so much of it is solely about attractiveness to others instead of comfort and function, and sometimes I look at fashion and wonder wtf happened to the attractiveness part, dickheads?
Someone said it.
Or when you look at fashion and realize it’s so see through it’s just an expensive way to not wear a shirt. And it itches. I’m not throwing money at it unless it also has pockets as deep as the Marianas Trench.
Might I recommend scrub tops? Or even scrub pants? Firstly, POCKETS, like everywhere, pockets, secondly, comfort, and thirdly, surprisingly, there are some really nice cuts, prints and patterns out there and these beasts can take a beating in the laundry if they need it, so they’ll last.
It’s when you know what comes before and after, but can’t for the life of you figure out how to write the middle bits.
Can you just… connect already?

One of the best fic authors I’ve seen around has been posting about having a redemption arc idea, but being too afraid to write it because redemption arcs are considered Problematic nowadays, so they don’t want to get in the crossfire, and I just want to say – tumblr is completely fucking dead to me.
redemption arcs are fucking important!
ppl seem to think it’s about the villain being forgiven for all the shit they did like it was nothing, but that’s not what redemption is! redemption is hard selfless work to become a better person, regardless of wether the ppl you’ve hurt forgive you or not, regardless of wether you can actually atone for your mistakes or not. redemption is swallowing your pride and understanding what you did wrong and having those memories of your past self hang over you constantly as a reminder to not ever do those thing you did ever agin. it is maturing as a person.
redemption arcs are so important because they are there to show that we are all human and we are all capable of change but it has to come from our own effort!
being a person who often get stuck in the past and the mistakes I made when I was even just a child, there is nothing I find more comforting than a good redemption arc, tbh.
if these villains from my childhood cartoons can become a better people despite all they did, then so can I
I sincerely hope that whatever strength you think I have, you don’t have to achieve it the same way. As for the Bollywood stuff, what else is a hapless desi to do? :’D Even with a need for subtitles, it’s one more way to maintain a connection to the roots.
